Today, April 25th, 2012 marks the end of Start Over Rover's first year!

It was one year ago today that a compassionate group of people got together and did their very first big rescue as Start Over Rover. They did not have a building for the animals they rescued, but relied on friends and families to open their homes as foster parents until the animals found their forever families. They did not have any funds to pay for vet care but used money from their own pockets to spay, neuter and get the animals current on their shots. With the much needed and appreciated help from the staff at TLC Vet Care, they were able to rescue 21 dogs from the same house. 4 adult dogs and 17 puppies rescued, vetted and re-homed without funding, space or the public even knowing that SOR existed yet.

This day reminds us all about our goals within Start Over Rover. To do whatever we can with whatever we have available as our resources to rescue, provide care and re-home unwanted, homeless and abandoned animals. We want to thank the public for their support throughout our first year. Without your help, we would not have been able to get to where we are today...just one year from our first rescue. We have a huge group of people among many states who donate to support SOR. We have a waiting list for volunteers. We have people who take time out from their jobs, their families and their personal lives to be at the building cleaning, doing laundry and spending time with the animals. We have a network of wonderful foster homes who take animals that aren't always "perfect" into their own homes and care for them until they find families of their own. We have foster homes who take pregnant animals and care for them and their offspring for weeks until they are ready to be adopted. There are no words to express the gratitude Start Over Rover has for all of our supporters. We just can't wait to see what this year will bring us!
Thank You For Supporting Our Efforts
Thank you to everyone who voted at www.givelitter.com. For every vote, World's Best Cat Litter™ is going donate one pound of litter to the chosen charity; Due to everyone's support, Start over Rover will receive 4,765 pounds of litter. Once again, thank you for all your support.

DOG OF THE WEEK

Parker is a Lab mix under a year old. He's a very sweet boy. He loves to play outside and really likes his toys. He has a lot of energy and would be a great walking buddy or jogging partner. Parker loves people an...d just wants you to give him attention. He gets along with other dogs, too. He would require supervision around very young children as he could easily knock them over with his always-wagging tail. Come visit him at Start Over Rover! Parker would love to be your new best friend!

CAT OF THE WEEK

Paula is a very pretty shorthair cat around 2 years old. She has been spayed and is UTD on her shots. Paula adores attention and soaks it all up when the volunteers go in to play with her. She is a big, goofy girl and is curious about everything that happens in the Cat Room. Paula gets along with the other cats. She is hoping to find her forever family this week!
